World Hunting Association Poll Pits TED NUGENT Against CINDY GARRISON
January 9, 2007The World Hunting Association's Web following has spoken on the latest interactive weekly poll, which places veteran hunters and hunting TV hosts Ted Nugent and Cindy Garrison against one another to determine who is the more entertaining person in hunting television.
Every Monday, lwww.worldhunt.com features a new poll setting two rival hunters, products or techniques against each other. In the current poll pitting Cindy Garrison and Ted Nugent, Garrison has captured 65 percent of the vote, as of Monday, determining her as more entertaining than Nugent after more than 16,000 votes.
Born in Detroit, Nugent began his career in music with the formation of the AMBOY DUKES in Detroit in 1965, and in 1968 they had a hit with "Journey to the Center of Your Mind". In the mid-1970s, Nugent was billed as a solo act and had a run of successful albums, including "Cat Scratch Fever". He continued to record solo throughout the '80s, and in the '90s, Nugent had even more success as a member of DAMN YANKEES. He is equally famous as an outspoken advocate for hunting rights and personally owns 350 guns. Most recently, Nugent has been part of such television shows as "Surviving Nugent" (2003),"Surviving Nugent: The Ten Commandments" (2004),"Wanted Ted or Alive" (2005) and "SuperGroup" (2006).
Garrison grew up in northern California and Oregon. Her parents, who both hunt and fish, introduced her to the sports as a child. Her love for the outdoors grew more serious when she traveled to Botswana with her father in 1998; she so enjoyed the experience, she stayed for five years, running camps for a safari company, as well as founding her own safari company. Lately, Garrison is best known for her work as an outdoors guide and host for ESPN's "Get Wild! With Cindy Garrison". The show is probably most notable for its exotic locations and her "extreme" approach to outdoor pursuits. In September 2006, she became an official spokeswoman for Women in the Outdoors.
